    		 Political involvement is crucial to a strong and effective labor union. The Active Ballot Club is Local 770's vehicle to the political world.

    History has taught us that we must participate in the political process in order to establish and safeguard laws which protect the American work force, union and non-union alike. Working men and women in this country enjoy the benefits of a life style won primarily by strong unions.
    Local 770 is determined to protect these hard-won benefits in the halls of Congress, just as we do at the bargaining table. That is why the UFCW, at both the Local and International levels, is a strong and leading participant in elections and in lobbying Congress.

    We believe in our system of government and will always speak out on important issues. While we recognize that not everyone will always agree on the issues and candidates, we take very seriously our responsibility to effect legislation and to elect people who, in our best judgement, share our vision.

    Success, however, takes more than dedication. It requires know-how and the means to get things done.
