Over 500 clergy, labor and community activists marched from the Vons on Virgil and Sunset to the Los Feliz Albertsons.
Members of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice, Los Angeles (CLUE-LA), led by Rabbi Jonathan Klein with employees of Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons delivered a strong message to the employers that they will not stand for an attack on their communities by cutting workers benefits by up to fifty percent. Clergy and community activists stand united with grocery workers in defending workers rights and the preservation of decent jobs in their communities.
At the end of the rally, the 500 attendees chanted “We’ll be back!”, stating that if a contract is not secured by June 28, they will take their message to the three company headquarters.
