Kaiser CLS: Bargaining Is An Uphill Battle

 Kaiser CLS/MLT Bargaining Update 7.29.25

We met with Kaiser last Wednesday, July 23 and today, Tuesday, July 29, for more bargaining sessions on our Kaiser CLS/MLT contract.

We had good conversations about the importance of work-life balance and the need to have time to observe personal holidays. We work hard and deserve to have a day off so we can each celebrate a holiday or occasion that has individual meaning. KP has built its brand on providing people care so they could “thrive.” They take pride in their diversity, equity and inclusion so we urge them to hold true to their brand and provide workers with the space to express their cultural belonging.

We also spent some time discussing the use of per diems and we believe we are getting closer to a solution that improves staffing levels for KP while providing necessary protections for per diem workers.

We will return to the bargaining table with Kaiser on Monday, August 11, 2025, and Tuesday, August 12, 2025, to continue discussing our contract. But these are our last two days currently scheduled with the company. We’ve been meeting since April and it’s time Kaiser gets its act together. Kaiser needs to come back next session prepared to get a deal that we can recommend to you.

We did come to an tentative agreement ensuring the commitment of new hires, but we still have a lot of outstanding issues that Kaiser needs to address. Bargaining is always an uphill battle, but we’re almost at the peak. Wear your gold shirts and continue to take photos with our campaign signs! We have to show Kaiser that we are powerful.
