Kaiser CLS: Still Waiting to Discuss Economic Issues

Progress at the Local Bargaining Table, But We’re Still Waiting to Discuss Economic Issues

We’ve met with Kaiser for three days this week, and we’re happy to report that we’ve made progress on our CLS/MLT contract. We were able to agree on per diem guidelines, including double time for per diem employees who work more than 12 hours and streamlining the process for per diem availability, which allows for permanent employees to take off time when they need it.

However, despite this movement today, Kaiser still hasn’t addressed our economic issues, which include upgrades that allow for MLT parity. We’ve scheduled new bargaining sessions during National Bargaining next week (September 9, 10 and 11), where we expect to address these most important economic issues.

To hear the updates from National Bargaining as soon as they’re available, join us for the 2025 National Bargaining Virtual Town Halls, scheduled for Thursday, September 11th at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM (PT), and Friday, September 12th at 7:00 AM (PT). These calls will go over the latest developments in negotiations on our national contract and inform you about upcoming actions.
