Kaiser Kern Main/Admin Bargaining Table Update

Your union bargaining committee met with KP on August 28th to generate momentum towards resolving Kaiser’s Kern Main and Admin/Clerical contracts. While these agreements do not expire until August 2026, the Kaiser National agreement will expire at the end of September (2025). Your union is bargaining in tandem with the Alliance for Health Care Unions which negotiates the National agreement, and progress at both tables has been slow.
We put forth two new package proposals designed to break the logjam of open issues including clinical ladder, longevity pay, bilingual differential, preceptor (aka trainer) premiums, the right to honor picket lines, and additional paid time off. Kaiser returned to the table with numerous questions about our packages, but no new proposals, or tentative agreements.
Your committee will take our fight to the National table in Los Angeles on September 10th and 11th. We hope that by taking your issues directly to Kaiser’s decision makers, we will get to “Yes” on our priorities faster.
