Our Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, And Pavilions Contracts Have Been Ratified!

Our next contract campaign starts now
Our new three-year agreements with Ralphs and Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions have officially been ratified! Thank you for taking the time to vote and making your voice heard. Because of our solidarity and commitment to fighting for the contract we deserve, our new contract includes:
Substantial wage increases
A new supplemental pension plan to help workers in their retirement
Increased healthcare benefit contributions and faster healthcare eligibility requirements for new hires
Staffing language that includes the union in evaluating reasonable staffing levels that address efficient operation of the store, the health and safety of employees, and the quality of customer service.
The journey to contract ratification saw a record turnout of grocery workers, customers, and community members, all fighting for the same thing – better stores, better lives, better communities. We fought to ensure our jobs would be sufficient to feed our own families and afford health benefits and a dignified retirement at the end of a long career. We also fought for more staffing to improve the customer experience at our stores.
Our fight took us to the streets where we organized numerous rallies and marches that showed our power. It took us to our stores where we stood up and demonstrated our unity by signing petitions and wearing buttons. We also joined with customers in the fight for more staffing, talking to over 3,000 customers about their shopping experiences and sharing their feedback with these companies that can afford to do better. These actions built the strength we needed to reach this agreement. Only by rising up together were we able to make a change in our workplaces that will benefit both us,our co-workers, and our customers in the future.
Our fight isn’t over though. Our fellow union members at Stater Bros. are still experiencing the same disrespect Ralphs and Albertsons showed us while they’re fighting for their stores, their lives and their communities. Members at Gelson’s, Super A and El Super are also still without contracts, and our brothers, sisters and siblings in our pharmacies are gearing up for their fight next year. They all stood by us to get this contract, now we have to stand by them.
We are a union, and we are only as powerful as we make it. It’s up to us to be brave and stand up to our companies when they want us to be meek and keep our heads down. You’re not alone in this fight. Look to your left. Look to your right. Those co-workers want the same as you. We are absolutely stronger together, and we are that much stronger for our next contract campaign, so continue to stay engaged with your stewards, co-workers, and your union throughout these next three years. ¡Nuestros nuevos contratos de tres años con Ralphs y Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions han sido oficialmente ratificados! Gracias por tomarte el tiempo de votar y hacer oír tu voz.
Gracias a nuestra solidaridad y compromiso de luchar por el contrato que merecemos, nuestro nuevo contrato incluye:
Aumentos de sueldo sustanciales
Un nuevo plan de pensión suplementario para ayudar a los trabajadores en su retiro
Más contribuciones al beneficio de aseguranza médica y requerimientos de elegibilidad para aseguranza médica más rápidos para los nuevos contratados
Provisiones sobre personal que incluyen a la unión para evaluar niveles de personal razonables que respondan a una eficiente operación de la tienda, salud y seguridad de los empleados y calidad de servicio al cliente.
El recorrido a la ratificación del contrato tuvo una participación récord de trabajadores de supermercados, clientes y miembros de la comunidad, todos luchando por lo mismo –mejores tiendas, mejores vidas y mejores comunidades. Nosotros luchamos para asegurar que nuestros trabajos sean suficientes para sostener a nuestras familias, poder cubrir los beneficios de salud y un retiro digno al final de una larga carrera. También luchamos por más personal para mejorar la experiencia del cliente en nuestras tiendas.
Nuestra lucha nos llevó a las calles donde organizamos varias manifestaciones y marchas que demostraron nuestro poder. Nos llevó a nuestras tiendas donde dimos la cara y demostramos nuestra unidad al firmar peticiones y ponernos nuestros botones de la campaña. También nos unimos a los clientes en la lucha por más personal, hablando con más de 3,000 clientes sobre sus experiencias de compra y compartiendo sus sugerencias con estas compañías que tienen la solvencia de mejorar. Estas acciones construyeron la fortaleza que necesitábamos para lograr este acuerdo. Solamente luchando unidos pudimos hacer un cambio en nuestros lugares de trabajo que beneficiará tanto a nosotros, nuestros compañeros de trabajo como a los clientes en el futuro.
Pero nuestra lucha sigue. Nuestros compañeros de la Unión en Stater Bros. todavía están viviendo la misma falta de respeto que nos mostraron Ralphs y Albertsons, mientras ellos luchan por sus tiendas, sus vidas y sus comunidades. Los compañeros en Gelson’s, Super A y El Super también están sin un contrato, y nuestros compañeros de las farmacias se están preparando para su lucha el próximo año. Todos ellos nos apoyaron para lograr este contrato, ahora nos toca apoyarlos a ellos.
Somos una Unión y solamente somos fuertes en la medida en que hagamos fuerte a nuestra unión. Queda en nosotros ser valientes y luchar frente a nuestras compañías cuando ellos quieren que seamos dejados y que mantengamos la cabeza agachada. No estás solo en esta lucha. Mira a tu izquierda y a tu derecha. Esos compañeros de trabajo quieren lo mismo que tú. Somos absolutamente más fuertes juntos y estamos así de fuertes para nuestra próxima campaña de contrato, entonces, sigue en contacto con tus delegados, compañeros de trabajo y tu Unión en el transcurso de estos tres años. ¡Y esa campaña comienza ahora!
