Last week, members of UFCW Locals 135, 324, 770, 1167, 1428, and 1442 voted to ratify strong new three-year contracts with Ralphs (a Kroger company) and Albertsons (which includes Vons and Pavilions).
We want to thank you, our allies, customers, and supporters, for being part of this fight. Your solidarity helped make this victory possible.
Together, we marched in the streets, rallied outside stores, and built a movement that couldn’t be ignored. Workers made their demands clear by signing petitions, wearing buttons, and talking with over 3,000 customers about what better staffing and better jobs mean for our communities. Your support helped us grow that strength.
This contract includes:
New staffing language that gives the union a voice in ensuring safe, well-run stores that serve both workers and customers
Significant wage increases
A new supplemental pension plan to support workers in retirement
Improved health benefits and faster eligibility for new hires
These wins will immediately benefit hundreds of Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions stores across Southern California.
We set a powerful example of what can be achieved through solidarity. We rose together and we will keep rising for our futures.

GRACIas por apoyar a los trabajadores de supermercados
La semana pasada, los miembros de los Locales 135, 324, 770, 1167, 1428 y 1442 del sindicato UFCW votaron a favor de ratificar nuevos y sólidos contratos de tres años con Ralphs (una empresa de Kroger) y Albertsons (que incluye a Vons y Pavilions).
Queremos agradecerles a ustedes, nuestros aliados, clientes y simpatizantes, por ser parte de esta lucha. Su solidaridad hizo posible esta victoria.
Juntos, marchamos en las calles, nos manifestamos frente a las tiendas y construimos un movimiento ineludible. Los trabajadores dejaron claras sus demandas firmando peticiones, luciendo botones y hablando con más de 3000 clientes sobre lo que significa contar con más personal y mejores empleos para nuestras comunidades. Su apoyo nos ayudó a fortalecer esa fuerza.
Este contrato incluye:
Nuevas provisiones sobre niveles de personal que permiten al sindicato tener voz y voto para garantizar tiendas seguras y bien gestionadas que atiendan tanto a trabajadores como a clientes.
Aumentos de sueldo significativos
Un nuevo plan de pensiones complementario para apoyar a los trabajadores jubilados.
Mejores beneficios médicos y una elegibilidad más rápida para nuevas contrataciones.
Estos logros beneficiarán de inmediato a cientos de tiendas Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons y Pavilions en el sur de California.
Somos un ejemplo rotundo de lo que se puede lograr mediante la solidaridad. Luchamos juntos y seguiremos luchando por nuestro futuro.
