Slow but Steady: Kaiser Pharmacy Bargaining Update
News| April 29, 2025
What happened during our second bargaining session?
Today we met with Kaiser Permanente for our second day of bargaining on our pharmacy contract. We were able to come to an agreement on using gender neutral terms in the contract and had some productive conversations with the company regarding their interest around the probationary period. We ended the day by presenting a new interest to KP around bridging seniority when returning to previous positions.
The conversations were engaging and we were able to express the areas of potential improvement in our facilities.
We will meet with KP again on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and send you another update on the progress made at that time. In the meantime, here are some upcoming activities where you can show KP that we’re united for the contract we deserve:
Attend the rally/picket action on Monday, May 5! The Alliance will be holding a kickoff rally and picket action in Harbor City at 5PM on May 5, the day before bargaining on our national contract starts. Having a large turnout at this event will make it clear to Kaiser that we’re ready for a strong contract. RSVP for the rally/picket action here: https://www.addevent.com/event/so25393958
Fill out and take a picture with our bargaining poster! Throughout the first national bargaining session from May 6 to May 8, we’re going to be passing out posters you can fill out what you’re fighting for on and take pictures with. Members of the bargaining committee will have posters, or you can contact your union representative to get a hold of one.
Join our National Bargaining Town Hall Calls! At 6PM on May 8 and 7AM on May 9, we’re going to be holding a town hall call so you can hear what has happened in the first national bargaining session. Mark your calendar now and keep an eye out for the information to join this important call. Calls like this are a key way you can stay involved in bargaining.
If you have any questions about bargaining or if there is anything else we can do to support you, please do not hesitate to contact your Bargaining Committee Members, Union Representatives, or Stewards.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
