We Have a Long Way to Go
Finally Stater Bros. admitted the truth today – that their proposal has no increases for meatcutters, courtesy clerks and the people in the progressions. We asked them three separate times and they confirmed every time that “there’s nothing for anyone else.” That’s unacceptable. $1 per year for only the people at the top of the payscale is unacceptable! We are all dedicated to this company and work hard to make it a place where we’re proud to work. We all deserve a raise!
Today we handed over multiple proposals on important issues – immigration protections for workers, AI/training and leaves for union business, and had the opportunity to engage in conversations about them. At the very end of the day, Stater Bros. acknowledged their responsibility to participate in our health and pension benefit fund on the same basis as the other large grocers in our area.
But we still have a long way to go.
Right now, it’s imperative that Stater Bros. knows we’re ready and willing to do what it takes to get the contract we deserve. We know we deserve better from Stater Bros. and to get that we need to stay involved in bargaining. Continue to wear your buttons! This act of solidarity shows Stater Bros. that we’re all united. Join calls like the ones hundreds of members attended this week. When we stand together, we have more power at the table to negotiate for the contract we deserve.

We return to the bargaining table on April 21, 2025. In the meantime, we will continue to escalate our campaign with more actions and more ways you can get involved, including engaging with our customers in front of our stores. No hay nada para los demás, Stater bros.
Nos queda un largo camino por recorrer
Por fin, Stater Bros. admitió hoy la verdad: su propuesta no contempla aumentos para los carniceros, los empleados de cortesía ni las personas en las progresiones. Les preguntamos tres veces y siempre confirmaron que “no hay nada para los demás”. Eso es inaceptable. ¡Un dólar al año solo para quienes ocupan los puestos más altos de la escala salarial es inaceptable! Todos estamos dedicados a esta empresa y trabajamos duro para que sea un lugar donde nos enorgullezca trabajar. ¡Todos merecemos un aumento!
Hoy presentamos múltiples propuestas sobre temas importantes: protección migratoria para los trabajadores, inteligencia artificial/capacitación y licencias por asuntos sindicales, y tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar sobre ellos. Finalmente, Stater Bros. reconoció su responsabilidad de participar en nuestro fondo de beneficios de salud y pensiones al igual que las demás grandes cadenas de supermercados de nuestra zona.
Pero aún nos queda un largo camino por recorrer.
En este momento, es imperativo que Stater Bros. sepa que estamos listos y dispuestos a hacer lo que sea necesario para obtener el contrato que merecemos. Sabemos que merecemos algo mejor de Stater Bros. y, para conseguirlo, debemos seguir participando en la negociación. ¡Sigan usando sus botones! Este acto de solidaridad demuestra a Stater Bros. que todos estamos unidos. Únanse a convocatorias como las que asistieron cientos de miembros esta semana. Cuando nos mantenemos unidos, tenemos más poder en la mesa para negociar el contrato que merecemos.
