The primary purpose of the UFCW Women’s Network is to unify UFCW women through an International network. Women, who comprise more than 50 percent of the UFCW’s members, represent a powerful resource for the union. The Network believes that the active participation of women members in the UFCW will enhance our union’s strength at the bargaining table, in organizing campaigns, and in the political arena.

    • 770 Women’s Network Luncheon on 03/06 in LA Shatto Office, 49 attendees. Leaders, Staff, Members from 3 SoCal Locals (770, 324, 1428) 

    • Int’l Women’s Day Webinar 03/08

    • Int’l Women’s Network Convention 05/15-05/17 In Costa Mesa (The power of connections: Women driving change through relationship building) 300 in attendance with UFCW Locals across the US & Canada. Making it our largest in attendance to date. Workshops: EOC, Building community connections, Owning your power/Understanding your potential, How to be a FEM-tor, Self-Defense and Yoga. Free Professional headshots provided at convention.

    •  Tabling at HP General Membership meeting

    • Participated in actions.

    • Started 770 first backpack drive. In less than 30 days we collected supplies and contributions to fund the project. Media event held, 400 backpacks were stuffed.

  • August

    • Region 8 Health & Safety Expo on 08/10

    • Region 8 volunteered at food back of La Community Services in Bell on 08/20

    • Members took photos explaining why they vote.

    • Tabling at HP for Cannabis event

    • In October We Wear Pink (Wearing Pink to bring awareness to Breast Cancer Screenings)

    • Post Cards to Union Members in Swing States

    • Tabling at Steward Training in LA
