CVS Workers Reach Tentative Agreement On Contract

CVS Tentative Agreement reached
Los Angeles, CA – Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Locals 5, 135, 324, 648, 770, 1167, 1428 and 1442, together representing more than 7,000 CVS workers across California, reached a tentative agreement securing better wages, more secure staffing, and a more affordable healthcare plan for our B stores.
The UFCW CVS Bargaining Committee said the following:
“We are proud to announce a tentative agreement with CVS that we unanimously recommend to our co-workers. For the last five months, we have been fighting hard for a fair contract – from a strike to actions, delegations, rallies, petitions, and conversations with our co-workers and customers; we have shown the strength that comes when workers stand together for a better life.
“Our strength was on display this past weekend as CVS workers from seven stores in Los Angeles and Orange County participated in an Unfair Labor Practice strike to protest CVS' unlawful activities. Striking workers received customer and community support and showed their determination to secure a contract reflecting the value of our essential healthcare services free from CVS’ underhanded tactics.
“We are grateful for the solidarity and strength our co-workers have shown throughout negotiations as well as the overwhelming support we have received from our customers and community members during our strike.
“Today proves that when workers fight, we win. We look forward to discussing the details of this agreement with our co-workers before we make our voices heard during the voting process.”
Further details of the tentative agreement will be shared exclusively with union members during the vote. After the vote closes, the results will be tallied, verified, and shared with members. Vote results and further information on the contract will be shared with the public after our membership has had a chance to review and vote on their contract.

Trabajadores de CVS Logran Acuerdo Tentativo de Contrato
Los Angeles, CA – El día de hoy, los locales del Sindicato de Trabajadores Unidos de la Industria de Alimentos y el Comercio/ United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Locales 5, 135, 324, 648, 770, 1167, 1428 y 1442, que juntos representan a más de 7,000 trabajadores de CVS en California, llegaron un acuerdo tentativo asegurando mejores sueldos, más personal y un plan de seguro médico más accesible para las farmacias clasificadas como tiendas B.
El Comité de Negociaciones de UFCW ante CVS declaró lo siguiente:
“Estamos orgullosos de anunciar un acuerdo tentativo con CVS que recomendamos unánimemente a nuestros compañeros de trabajo. Durante los últimos cinco meses, hemos estado luchando arduamente por un contrato justo, desde una huelga hasta acciones, delegaciones, manifestaciones, peticiones y conversaciones con nuestros compañeros de trabajo y clientes; hemos demostrado la fuerza que surge cuando los trabajadores se unen para lograr una vida mejor.
“Nuestra fuerza se puso de manifiesto el fin de semana pasado cuando los trabajadores de CVS de siete tiendas en Los Ángeles y el condado de Orange participaron en una huelga por prácticas laborales injustas para protestar contra las actividades ilegales de CVS. Los trabajadores en huelga recibieron el apoyo de los clientes y la comunidad y mostraron su determinación de asegurar un contrato que reflejara el valor de nuestros servicios de atención médica esenciales libres de las tácticas deshonestas de CVS.
“Estamos agradecidos por la solidaridad y la fuerza que nuestros compañeros de trabajo han demostrado durante las negociaciones, así como por el apoyo abrumador que hemos recibido de nuestros clientes y miembros de la comunidad durante nuestra huelga.
