Our Gelson’s Contract Has Been Ratified!

And our next contract campaign starts NOW
Our new three-year agreement with Gelson’s has officially been ratified! Thank you for taking the time to vote and make your voice heard. Because of our solidarity and commitment to fighting for the contract we deserve, our new contract includes:
Wage increases for EVERY worker
A new supplemental pension plan to help workers in their retirement
Increased healthcare benefit contributions and faster healthcare eligibility requirements for new hires
Staffing language that includes the union in evaluating reasonable staffing levels that address efficient operation of the store, the health and safety of employees, and the quality of customer service.
Our journey to contract ratification saw a record turnout of grocery workers, customers, and community members, all fighting for the same thing – better stores, better lives, better communities. We fought to ensure our jobs would be sufficient to feed our own families and afford health benefits and a dignified retirement at the end of a long career. We also fought for more staffing to improve the customer experience at our stores.
Only by rising up together in solidarity – from wearing buttons, signing petitions, and pledge cards, to standing with our coworkers and our fellow union siblings at Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, Pavilions, and Stater Bros. – were we able to win changes in our workplaces that will benefit us, our coworkers, and our customers in the future.
Our fight isn’t over though. Members at El Super are also still without a contract, and our pharmacist siblings at Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions are gearing up for their fight next year. They all stood by us to get this contract, now we must stand by them.
WE are the union, and we’re only as powerful as we make it. Our win in this campaign proved that solidarity works, and it’s the key to building strength for our next contract campaign. So continue to stay engaged with your stewards, coworkers, and your union throughout these next three years. That campaign starts now.

Y nuestra siguiente campaña de contrato comienza AHORA
¡Nuestro contrato de tres años con Gelson’s ha sido oficialmente ratificado! Gracias por tomarte el tiempo de votar y hacer oír tu voz. Con nuestra solidaridad y compromiso de luchar por el contrato que merecemos, nuestro nuevo contrato incluye:
Aumentos de sueldo para TODOS y cada uno de los trabajadores
Un nuevo plan de pensión complementaria para ayudar a los trabajadores en su jubilación
Aumento a las contribuciones del beneficio de salud y requisitos de elegibilidad más rápidos para cobertura médica para los nuevos contratados
Redacción sobre personal que incluye a la unión para evaluar niveles razonables de personal que atiendan la operación eficiente de la tienda, la salud y seguridad de los empleados y la calidad del servicio al cliente.
Nuestro recorrido hacia la ratificación del contrato vio una participación histórica de trabajadores de supermercados, clientes y miembros de la comunidad, todos luchando por lo mismo –mejores tiendas, mejores vidas y mejores comunidades. Nosotros luchamos para garantizar que nuestros empleos fueran suficientes para sostener a nuestras familias, poder cubrir los beneficios de salud y un retiro digno al final de una larga carrera. También luchamos por más personal para mejorar la experiencia de los clientes en nuestras tiendas.
Solamente luchando juntos en solidaridad –desde ponernos los botones de la campaña, firmar peticiones y tarjetas de compromiso, hasta apoyar a nuestros compañeros de trabajo y de unión de Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, Pavilions y Stater Bros. – pudimos lograr cambios en nuestros lugares de trabajo que nos beneficiarán a nosotros, a nuestros compañeros de trabajo y a nuestros clientes en el futuro.
Pero nuestra lucha no ha terminado. Compañeros de El Super siguen sin un contrato y nuestros compañeros farmacéuticos de Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons y Pavilions se están preparando para su lucha el próximo año. Todos ellos estuvieron con nosotros apoyándonos para lograr este contrato, ahora debemos apoyarlos a ellos.
NOSOTROS somos la unión y solamente somos tan fuertes como hagamos nuestra unión fuerte. Nuestro triunfo en esta campaña comprobó que la solidaridad sí funciona y que es la clave para construir fortaleza para nuestra siguiente campaña de contrato. Entonces, sigue participando con tus delegados, compañeros de trabajo y tu unión en el transcurso de los próximos tres años. La campaña comienza ahora.
