Kaiser Update: Our Alliance Siblings Have Issued a 10-Day Strike Notice

News| October 4, 2025

UFCW Pharmacy members take ULP strike authorization votes the week of October 13

Yesterday, our sibling locals in the Alliance of Health Care Unions, HNHP, UNAC/UHCP, UNITE HERE Local 5, OFNHP Local 5017, and USW 7600, issued 10-day strike notices to Kaiser.

National and local bargaining continues next week October 6-10.  If no agreement is reached, our siblings will begin a five-day strike starting at 7:00 AM on October 14. This collective action sends a powerful message to Kaiser about the need to bargain in good faith and respect frontline healthcare workers.

UFCW is also taking action.

Kaiser has broken the law by interfering with our rights, denying access to union representatives from visiting you at work. This is an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP), and harms our ability to communicate with you and protect your rights.

In response, we’re holding ULP strike authorization votes for UFCW Kaiser Pharmacy members the week of October 13.

To help all Kaiser members understand the Pharmacy ULP strike vote, and how we can support our striking siblings on the picket line, we’re holding webinars on Thursday, October 9th at 8am and 7pm

CLS and Kern members – while your contract doesn’t expire, and you can’t strike at this time, please attend the webinars below to learn more about the current state of negotiations, and how you can help support your siblings in both UFCW and the Alliance.

Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM

How You Can Support Our Alliance Sibling Unions On Strike

  • Show up. If a strike begins on October 14, join a picket line before or after your shift, or on your day off to show support.

  • Stay informed. Attend webinars and talk with your Steward or Union Representative.

  • Stay united. Continue to share photos for #SolidarityTuesday and messages of support for our striking siblings. When we act together across job roles and unions, we send a powerful message to management.

In Solidarity,
Your Kaiser Bargaining Committees
