What happened during our first bargaining session for our kern main contract?

Kern main contract bargaining off to a strong start

Today and yesterday we met with Kaiser Permanente for our first bargaining session on our Kern Main Contract. We started the session by defining our priorities for this year’s contract negotiations and setting expectations on how we will achieve an agreement that benefits both the members and the communities we serve. Negotiations occur through interest-based bargaining and this session we focused on language clean up and contract alignment.

This was a good first session and we’re hopeful about our future ability to get the contract you deserve.

We meet with KP again on 5/21/25, and we will send another update for you then. In the meantime, here’s how you can show KP that we’re united for the contract we deserve:

  1. Follow UFCW 770 and Alliance of Healthcare Unions social media accounts! These platforms will house the most up-to-date information. Kaiser members can find bargaining updates and other content about the contract there, so make sure you and all of your co-workers follow the accounts to stay informed.

UFCW 770:

Alliance of Healthcare Unions:

  1. Wear your union buttons! Please continue to show your solidarity by wearing your union buttons!

  2. Save the date for May 5, 2025! The Alliance will be holding a Kickoff rally in Southern California. Mark your calendars so we can show up in force and tell Kaiser loud and clear that we’re ready for a strong contract.

When: May 5 @ 5:00pm

Where: Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park

25820 Vermont Ave.

Harbor City, CA 90701

If you have any questions about bargaining or if there is anything else we can do to support you, please do not hesitate to contact your Bargaining Committee Members, Union Representatives, or Stewards.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
