KP Not Interested in Solving Work/Life Balance
KP Pharmacy Bargaining Update| May 27, 2025
Management rejected our increased holiday, PTO and vacation cash out proposals
Today we met with Kaiser Permanente for our fourth day of bargaining on our pharmacy contract.
Despite work/life balance being one of our key interests, management rejected our proposals for increased holidays and personal time off, as well as an automatic cash out proposal for our hardworking members to be paid what they’re owed when they reach maximum accrual without having to request it.
They also made a proposal to create an on-call job status claiming that this would allow for more time off granting - however we already have strong staffing language therefore, we will further explore if any additional benefits exist.
One of the bright spots in our negotiations today was reaching a tentative agreement on convening to discuss a career pathway for outpatient members to receive the necessary training to qualify for positions within the inpatient setting.
We will meet with KP again on Friday, June 13th. In the meantime, we need to show KP we are not backing down from fighting for the contract we deserve. Here’s how you can stay engaged:
