BREAKING: Stater Brothers Workers Reach Tentative Agreement On New Contract

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Locals representing more than 12,000 Stater Bros. workers across Southern California, reached a tentative agreement securing higher wages, more money for pension contributions, healthcare improvements, staffing, safety and more.
The UFCW Stater Bros. Bargaining Committee said the following:
“We’re proud to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with Stater Bros. that we can recommend to our coworkers, which secures higher wages, improved pension, better and faster access to healthcare, staffing, safety and more.
“This victory wouldn’t have been possible without the power of our collective action. Together, we stood up to the company’s disrespect and made it clear that we are a strong union family, united in solidarity to fight for the contract we deserve.
“We look forward to sharing and discussing the details of this agreement with our coworkers before we make our voices heard during the voting process.”
Further details of the tentative agreement will be shared exclusively with union members in upcoming meetings. After the vote closes, the results will be tallied, verified, and shared with members. Vote results and further information on the contract will be shared with the public after membership has had a chance to review and vote on their contract.
The previously scheduled boycott of the Stater Bros. in Huntington Beach tomorrow has been canceled.
BACKGROUND:
Six UFCW California locals represent more than 12,000 Stater Bros. grocery employees who are part of the Grocery Workers Rising contract campaign. Grocery Workers Rising is comprised of 65,000 essential grocery workers across Southern California rising up for what they deserve. Visit the campaign at www.groceryworkersrising.org.
Grocery workers at Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, Pavilions and Super A, ratified their new contracts last month. Gelson’s workers are currently negotiating to secure similar terms as their fellow union members at Ralphs and Albertsons.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Hoy, las secciones locales del Sindicato de Trabajadores Unidos de la Industria de Alimentos y el Comercio/United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), que representan a más de 12,000 trabajadores de Stater Bros. en el sur de California, llegaron a un acuerdo tentativo que garantiza sueldos más altos, más dinero en contribuciones a pensiones, mejoras al seguro médico y más personal, entre otros logros.
El Comité de Negociaciones de Trabajadores de Supermercados Luchando de UFCW con Stater Brothers declaró lo siguiente:
“Nos enorgullece anunciar que hemos llegado a un acuerdo tentativo con Stater Bros. que podemos recomendar a nuestros compañeros de trabajo, el cual garantiza sueldos más altos, mejor pensión, acceso mejor y más rápido al seguro médico, suficiente personal, seguridad y más.
“Esta victoria no habría sido posible sin el poder de nuestra acción colectiva. Juntos, nos enfrentamos a la falta de respeto de la empresa y dejamos claro que somos una familia sindical fuerte, unidos en solidaridad para luchar por el contrato que merecemos.
“Esperamos compartir y discutir los detalles de este acuerdo con nuestros compañeros de trabajo antes de hacernos escuchar durante el proceso de votación”.
Detalles adicionales del acuerdo tentativo se compartirán exclusivamente con miembros del sindicato en las próximas reuniones. Tras el cierre de la votación, se contabilizarán, verificarán y compartirán los resultados con los miembros. El boicot previamente programado para mañana 7 de agosto en una tienda Stater Brothers en Huntington Beach ha sido cancelado.
