Agreement delivers higher wages, improvements in sick and bereavement leave, protection of health and welfare benefits, and more!
We’re excited to announce that after this week’s bargaining session, we reached a tentative agreement with Santa Cruz Markets!
This new contract delivers $3 an hour top rate increases over three years, improved sick and bereavement leave, increased scheduling notice, protection of hourly guarantee in the event of force majeure, and protection of health and welfare benefits. And by sticking together in solidarity, we defeated the company’s attempt to roll back the time-and-a-half Sunday premium. But nothing is final until we all have the chance to review the details and cast our vote.
This victory was only possible because of our hard work and solidarity with our co-workers. Every action we took, from signing petitions, to engaging with our customers, wearing our t-shirts, to speaking out publicly about our issues, helped get us to this point. Our victory sends a powerful message to workers everywhere – when we band together in solidarity, we win.
Remember, this is a tentative agreement. It’s not final until you vote to accept it. Stay tuned for vote times and locations.

VICTORIA: ¡Hemos logrado un Acuerdo Tentativo de nuestro Contrato con Santa Cruz Markets!
¡El acuerdo incluye sueldos más altos, mejoras a permisos por enfermedad y luto, protección a beneficios de salud y bienestar, y más!
¡Estamos emocionados de anunciar que después de la sesión de negociaciones de esta semana, hemos logrado un acuerdo tentativo con Santa Cruz Markets!
Este nuevo contrato incluye aumentos de $3/hr. para sueldos más altos en tres años, permisos de ausencia por enfermedad y luto mejorados, más tiempo de aviso de los horarios, protección de la garantía de horas en caso de fuerza mayor, y protección de beneficios de salud y bienestar. Y al mantenernos unidos en solidaridad, derrotamos el intento de la compañía de quitar el pago premium de tiempo y medio de los domingos. Pero nada está terminado hasta que todos tengamos la oportunidad de revisar los detalles del acuerdo y dar nuestro voto.
Esta victoria sólo fue posible gracias a nuestro duro trabajo y la solidaridad con nuestros compañeros de trabajo. Cada acción que tomamos, desde firmar peticiones, hablar con los clientes, ponernos nuestras camisetas de la campaña, hasta hablar públicamente sobre nuestros temas, nos ayudó a llegar a este punto. Nuestra victoria manda un poderoso mensaje a los trabajadores en todas partes – ¡cuando nos unimos en solidaridad, ganamos!
